As an electrician you qualify to write the Master Electrician’s License exam with 3 years experience as a (n) :

→ | Domestic and Rural electrician with a Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) or |
→ | Industrial electrician with a Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) |
As a Powerline Technician you qualify to write the Master Electrician’s License exam with three years experience as a:
→ | Powerline Technician with a Certificate of Qualification ( C of Q) |
As an Engineer, Technician, or Technologist you qualify to write the Master Electrician’s License exam with 3 years experience as a(n):
→ | P. Eng. registered with the PEO, or |
→ | CET registered with the OACETT, or |
→ | C. Tech registered with the OACETT |
You need a Master Electrician License:
→ | to operate an Electrical Contracting Business |
→ | to be employed as a Designated Master Electrician for an Electrical Contracting Business |
→ | to attain a Master’s level of electrical, legal and business Knowledge |
Engineers, Technicians and Technologists are eligible for a Master Electricians License in Ontario. For other Provinces or Territories please verify the specific requirements with your local safety authority office.
